Founders

Group Executive Chairman

Mr Her was instrumental in driving Asiaeuro Malaysia’s tremendous pace of growth and within seven years of its establishment in 1999, the company became the leading wine importer and distributor in Malaysia.

He expanded Asiaeuro’s business portfolio to include spirits, coffee, fine dining water, sake and eventually, integrated lifestyle restaurants.

By 2010, Asiaeuro Malaysia had become the largest importer and distributor of lifestyle wines and spirits in Malaysia.

In 2011, he spearheaded an aggressive expansion of Asiaeuro’s business in China, Hong Kong and Macau. This phase of growth was further accelerated with the opening of the Singapore Hub office and development of the business upstream with its own brands and manufacturing.

Prior to Asiaeuro, Mr Her helmed Pine Heavy Machinery Company, which was the turnkey project contractor for the Malaysia North South Expressway, as well as an independent JV car export business to Australia and New Zealand.

Group CEO

Jonathan Chow is presently the Group CEO & partner of the Asiaeuro Group of companies which has offices in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and People’s Republic of China. Jonathan has set out a clear growth path for this Malaysia headquartered wines & spirits distribution company by transforming the Greater China business into a joint venture with International Beverages Holdings, subsidiary of SGX listed Thaibev Group. The joint venture is now known as Asiaeuro International Beverage (AIB) in Hong Kong and China. Over the last three years, Jonathan has started diversifying the Malaysia and Singapore businesses from core distribution activities to brand ownership and brand building and a focus on lifestyle brands. Some of the brands that Jonathan has helped create include the very successful Saito Sake brand as well as Kaicho whisky.

Before this venture into entrepreneurship, Jonathan was the founding managing director of Beam Global Asia Pte Ltd taking a largely Jim Beam led business that dominated the USA and Australia and giving the US company a good footprint in Asia by building up local partnerships and diversifying the product portfolio. Ahead of the recent boom, Jonathan started focussing on growing single malt whiskies such as The Macallan in 2004 and introducing Japanese whiskies into South East Asia in 2009 by taking on the Suntory agency into Beam (in 2014, Suntory Group bought over the entire Beam Global company).  Some of the single malt whisky brands that Jonathan and his team groomed and built in Asia included The Macallan, Laphroaig, Yamazaki, Hibiki, Bowmore and Auchentoshan. In 2009, Jonathan was made a Keeper of the Quaich.

Jonathan is a keen whisky and cigar aficionado and one of his current pet projects is the building of the first Cohiba Atmosphere cigar lifestyle club. Jonathan is married with three children and the family is based in Singapore.
